What kind of file types can I upload to Builder?

You can upload almost any kind of file type to iDetail Builder.

The Builder authoring tool supports several content item types. In addition to the Slidedeck, Podcast, and External Link content items you create exclusively in Builder, you can also upload the following supported file types:

CSV	.csv
eBook	.epub
Image	.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif
Keynote	.key
Excel	.xls, .xlsm, .xlsx
PowerPoint	.ppt, .pptm, .ppt
Word	.doc, .docm, .docx
PDF	.pdf
Text	.txt
Video	.m4v, .mp4, .mov
ZIP	.zip

Builder will also allow files with other extensions that are not specifically supported. When these files are uploaded, they are assigned a generic “File” name.

In the iDetail App, files that cannot be opened directly appear with the following message:

You can use the Open in… link to choose another app that will open the file, or choose Quick Look, if available, to preview the file contents.

Is there a size limit on the files I upload to Builder?

While there are no technical limits on the file sizes you can upload, there are some caveats.
